AMVETS Trunk or Treat, October 19th from 5-8 PM
On behalf of the 600 plus men and women of Post 2298, we welcome you to our site and invite you to join us as we take care of America's finest citizens - its Veterans!
On any given day you will find our members out in the community, assisting Veterans in making appointments, enjoying some leisure time, or just inviting them to our post home for some food, refreshments, and fellowship. We are proud of our accomplishments and and it is our mission to create an image in the Bay County community that we are patriots who may take off our uniforms but never lose sight of our American ideals.
If you are eligible to join our organization, we cordially invite you to do so. You will find a group of people who relish new friendships and enjoy the bonds we have created through our service to country. Our membership requirements are simple. If you are either Active Duty or an honorably discharged veteran, you are eligible to join. See our eligibility section below. We also have a Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of AMVETS Squadron, and a Riders Chapter so take a look at the eligibility requirements for all of these and give us a try.
Again, welcome to our site. On this site you will see the kinds of activities that we do and I'm sure that you will find something that interests you. Our post home is open 7 days a week and we have an excellent staff of officers, trustees, and employees.
God Bless America!

To be eligible for membership in AMVETS, you must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves, anytime after Sept. 15,1940. Additionally, unless still serving, your discharge must have been under honorable conditions. If you served as an American citizen in the armed forces of an allied nation, under honorable conditions, between Sept. 15, 1940 and May 8, 1975, you are also eligible, as are wartime members of the Merchant Marine. Proof of eligibility can take the form of a DD-214, an honorable discharge certificate or other appropriate document. As a rule of thumb, annual dues are $30, but this amount may vary from state to state or post to post. Life member dues are a minimum of $150. These dues fund, in part, the programs, services and representation AMVETS provides.
