Post Car Show, May 31st, 12-3 PM

On behalf of the 600-plus men and women of Post 2298, welcome to our website. We invite you to learn more about who we are and to join us in supporting America’s finest citizens, our Veterans.
On any given day, you will find our members serving throughout the community: assisting Veterans with appointments, sharing fellowship, enjoying leisure activities, or welcoming them to our post home for food, refreshments, and friendship.
We are proud of our accomplishments, and our mission is to show the Bay County community that we are patriots who may have taken off the uniform, but have never lost sight of our American ideals.
If you are eligible to join our organization, we cordially invite you to become a member. You will find a welcoming group of people who value new friendships and the lasting bonds created through service to our country. Membership requirements are simple: if you are currently serving on active duty or are an honorably discharged veteran, you may be eligible to join. Please see our eligibility section below for more information.
We also have a Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of AMVETS Squadron, and Riders Chapter. We encourage you to review the eligibility requirements for each group and consider becoming part of our Post 2298 family.
Again, welcome to our website. Here, you will find information about our activities, events, and the many ways we serve Veterans and our community. Our post home is open seven days a week, and we are proud to have an excellent staff of officers, trustees, and employees ready to welcome you.
God Bless America!

To be eligible for membership in AMVETS, you must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves, anytime after Sept. 15,1940. Additionally, unless still serving, your discharge must have been under honorable conditions. If you served as an American citizen in the armed forces of an allied nation, under honorable conditions, between Sept. 15, 1940 and May 8, 1975, you are also eligible, as are wartime members of the Merchant Marine. Proof of eligibility can take the form of a DD-214, an honorable discharge certificate or other appropriate document. As a rule of thumb, annual dues are $30, but this amount may vary from state to state or post to post. Life member dues are a minimum of $150. These dues fund, in part, the programs, services and representation AMVETS provides.
